English — 4 years required

Must include frequent writing (brainstorming through final paper) and reading of classic and modern literature. No more than one year of ESL-type courses may count.

UC Honors Designation

AP English Language & Composition and AP English Literature & Composition both earn 1 extra weighted GPA point.
